Paskapoo Slopes Regional Park
When Trinity Hills is your home, you can think of Paskapoo Slopes Regional Park as an extension of your own backyard. There are wayfinding signs within Trinity Hills Village to point you in the right direction, then it’s up to you and your pooch how you want to explore the 17 kilometres of trails at your leisure.
Bowmont Park
Bowmont Park (85 St. N.W. & 48 Ave. N.W) is less than 4 kilometres from home at Trinity Hills. This 164-hectare urban park is located along the northern bank of the Bow River. When your best friend feels the need to run free and feel the wind in their fur, the
designated off-leash areas at Bowmont are the place to be.
Nose Hill Park
Nose Hill Park (6465 14 ST N.W.) is an expansive 1129-hectare natural urban oasis in the city’s northwest. Spend some quality time with your pup exploring the on and off-leash trails and maybe fetching a frisbee or two. The natural grasslands environment means this park is a great place to spot wildlife, including deer and coyotes, so be sure to keep an eye out as you hike to the top of the hill to take in the sweeping views of the Calgary skyline.
Glenmore Reservoir Trail
If slow and steady is your doggo’s speed, head over to Glenmore Reservoir Trail. Remember to bring some water so you both stay hydrated along this relatively easy-going 15-km loop around the reservoir lake. Leashes are required and swimming is not permitted as this is the source for the majority of Calgary’s drinking water.
Weaselhead Flats
Weaselhead Flats (66 Ave. and 37 St. S.W.) offers a relatively easy and flat 4.8-kilometre paved path through a river delta in the southwest corner of Calgary. Your dog must stay on the paved path, but there are plenty of stunning scenic views to enjoy as you weave your way through the woods. A great place for birders, you may even spot a deer or a busy beaver along the way.
Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park
When you and your fur baby are in need of a quick escape from the city, head to Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park (255001 Glenbow Rd, Cochrane). It’s less than a 25-minute drive from Trinity Hills and offers 25 kilometres of trails to explore along the Bow River. Glenbow is a working ranch, so you may spot some cattle and horses. Dogs must be kept on a leash.
