With more than its fair share of natural beauty, Alberta is one of the world's top travel destinations for nature lovers and adventurers. If you are lucky enough to call Calgary and Trinity Hills your home, this sought-after part of the world is much more than a dream destination to cross off a bucket list. It is yours to explore whenever you like! Here are some great Alberta weekend trips.

Jasper

Jasper National Park is the largest park in Canada -- with over 11,000 square kilometres of absolutely stunning natural beauty. Explore Pyramid Lake and Athabasca Falls and view wildlife in Marmot Meadows. Hike the extensive trail network, camp, or simply stare in wonder and try to take it all in. Check current service updates here.

Canmore

About an hour from Trinity Hills, you'll find majestic mountain views in picturesque Canmore. The town is only about 15 minutes from Banff, but the crowds are far fewer. The Rocky Mountain Legacy Trail is a 26-kilometre, multi-use path for hikers, cyclists, rollerbladers and runners. It connects directly with the town of Banff. There are many options for accommodations in Canmore -- from camping and hostels to luxury resorts and hotels.

Kananaskis

Kananaskis is only about 45 minutes from Trinity Hills, making it an easy escape for anyone who loves hiking, biking, wildlife viewing and camping in one of the most beautiful places imaginable. You can fish and picnic the day away at Forgetmenot Pond. Winter offers cross-country ski trails and the Nakiska Ski Area offers 79 downhill runs.

Sundre

Set among the stunning scenery of rolling foothills, prairies and the Rocky Mountains is a 700-kilometre paved trail known as The Cowboy Trail. It spans from Mayerthorpe all the way down to Cardston near the US border. The town of Sundre is about an hour north of Trinity Hills. It combines much of the best The Cowboy Trail has to offer. You can camp, ride horses, watch wild horses, go rafting on the Red Deer River, go hiking, mountain biking or play a round of golf. The hardest part is figuring out what to do first.

We hope these great weekend trips help you explore what is all around you when you call Trinity Hills your home.
