Botanical Gardens of Silver Springs
If you’re looking for a truly spectacular blossoming spring scene, look no further than the Botanical Gardens of Silver Springs in Calgary. Open year round from dawn till dusk, the gardens are located within a Birthplace Forest that covers multiple acres of land. Visit to discover 18 gardens here, all connected and accessible by walking paths made of mulch.
Reader Rock Garden
Reader Rock Garden Historic Park is a unique destination in the city that features the restored Reader house -- including the Reader's Garden Café -- rock pathways, bridges, benches and beautiful flowers. Pack a picnic and head on over to catch some truly stunning spring blooms this season.
Prince’s Island Park
Prince's Island Park is a great place to see spring in bloom in downtown Calgary. This 20 hectare park features flower gardens, water fountains and recreational trails so it’s an excellent spring destination when you’re up for spending the better part of a day somewhere. Consider riding your bike around the park or wearing good walking shoes, and pack some snacks or a meal!
If you’d like to see beautiful wildflowers in bloom, Edworthy Park is a great spring destination in Calgary! This 169 hectare park is located in a valley along the Bow River in southwest Calgary. It includes the Douglas Fir Trail and Lawrey Gardens. This park is well equipped with picnic areas and tables, so pack a lunch and spend the afternoon there!
Located in Calgary’s Beltline area, the Beaulieu Gardens are the terraced gardens of Lougheed House, a historic home built in 1891. It was once the home of Sir James Lougheed and family. The house is now a museum and the gardens are maintained by The City of Calgary Parks.
