Bowmont Park
Bowmont Park is the perfect place for beginner hikers. This oasis within the city is less than 10 minutes from Trinity Hills. There are many trails to choose from. A favourite for kids is the Waterfall Valley trail. Seeing the 3-metre high waterfall is like a reward. This trail is only 1 hour, round trip.
Nose Hill Park
Another great hiking spot within Calgary's city limits is Nose Hill Park. It's about an 18-minute drive from Trinity Hills. There are several trails to choose from that lead through grasslands and up and over rolling hills. You can catch stunning views of the city skyline, Bow River Valley, the Rocky Mountains to the west, and the vast plains to the east. You may also spot some wildlife, including deer and porcupines.
Fish Creek Provincial Park
Fish Creek Provincial Park is located at the southern end of Calgary, about 30 minutes from Trinity Hills. There are over 80 kilometres of paved pathways and multi-use trails to explore.
Troll Falls

Johnston Canyon
Located about 1.5 hours from Trinity Hills is Johnston Canyon in Banff National Park. This very popular hike may be a little crowded but is very rewarding for beginner hikers. You can choose a 1.2-kilometre (1 hour round trip) trail to the Lower Falls or the 2.5-kilometre (2 hour round trip) trail to the Upper Falls. Both offer stunning scenic views.
